Time for another update.  This is turning into the best year I've had in a long time.  

The great temp job I had is becoming a permanent job as of Monday.  As one of my friends put it, it's nice to know someone is still hiring.  I just got very lucky that some people moved to other departments an left space for me to transition into.  

I've also met a wonderful amazing girl who makes me happier than I've been in a long time.  She has helped to renew my spirit and inspired me to start shooting more.  I had been in a lull and not posting much.  Its pretty amazing what can happen when two people open their hearts to one another.


As always I want to continue to give some thanks also.

As some may remember, last July I left my job to take some time off.  I wasn't happy where I was at at and had just moved to the Bay area a few months earlier.  Basically just needed to take some time for myself, get to know the city better and learn more about photography.

Well it was fun, but the savings are running low and time has come to get back to work.  It was a bit scary the last couple months with the poor economy and lack of prospects.  Stress over the idea of running out of money was really sapping my creativity and motivation to photograph.  Thankfully I have found a position and start Monday.  I'm excited to go back to work. Something I didn't think I would ever say, lol.  It's a great company and some of my best friends already work there.  Hopefully that will make the transition easier.  It's only a six month contract for now, but could be extended.  At the very least it gives me some breathing room to figure out my next steps.


As always I want to continue to give some thanks also.

Hope everyone had a great New Years.  I have finally caught up after being away from dA for a couple of weeks.  2008 was a year of change for me (moved across the country and left my job to take some time for myself), we'll see what 2009 has in store.  Hopefully the cold I just got over is not a sign of my luck for the year.  My first priority is to find a new job.  I was fortunate enough to be able to afford about a half a year on my own.  Savings only last so long though. So the hunt begins.

I'll be going on a trip for a week starting Tuesday to South Tahoe.  I wanted to go ahead and wish everyone the best for the holiday season before I get busy and forget to post it.  I don't know if I will have internet or not for the week.  This is the first time I will see real significant snow, so I'm pretty excited for that and the photo opportunities.  The only other time I have seen snow is when I was a little kid and it snowed a little bit in St. Augustine Florida.  Needless to say that it wasn't much snow and didn't last long   That was also a looong time ago
